Most M&V is a one-off survey — expensive, slow, and out of date the day after it’s taken. The CPHA runs continuously against every connected home, building an unbroken evidence record from pre-retrofit baseline through to post-retrofit verification.

Half-hourly smart-meter consumption, corrected for local weather conditions — the benchmark every subsequent measurement is compared against. Established before any work begins.

Building Performance Evaluation under BS 40101 requires genuine independence from the retrofit delivery chain. Tricity Labs has no retrofit delivery arm, no supply relationship, and no financial interest in what the audit recommends.

The evidence it produces is structurally independent — defensible in a funding submission, a board paper, and at a regulatory inspection, because no one can argue the findings were shaped by who does the work.
